How to get to the Hotel Alpenfriede

Despite its location at 2,090 metres above sea level, the Hotel Alpenfriede in Hochsölden is easily accessible even in winter.

The Hochsöldenstraße, which leads up from Sölden, is cleared regularly and is usually in good condition for driving. Depending on weather conditions, snow chains may be compulsory.

Winter sports at 2,090 metres

Hochsölden lies at 2,090 metres above sea level and is one of the highest villages in the Sölden ski area. This small winter sports village is peaceful and entirely geared towards winter activities.

A short downhill walk from the Hotel Alpenfriede leads directly to the nearest lift. From there, the entire ski area is accessible, with its extensive slopes and links to the two glacier ski areas.

The Ötztal Valley in Tyrol

You can reach the Ötztal via the A12 Inntal motorway, taking the Ötztal exit. From there, follow the Ötztaler Straße (B186) for around 40 kilometres to Sölden.

Just before you reach the end of the village, the well-signposted Gletscherstraße branches off to the right and leads up to Hochsölden, ending at the Hotel Alpenfriede at 2,090 metres above sea level.

In winter, snow chains may be compulsory on this road. However, thanks to regular gritting, it is usually in good condition for driving.

Many guests enjoy a relaxed journey by train to the Ötztal valley.

The route runs via Innsbruck to Ötztal railway station. From there, there are regular bus services to Sölden and Hochsölden.

Yes, it is also possible to travel by plane.

The nearest airport is Innsbruck, about an hour’s drive from the Ötztal valley. From there, the Ötztal Shuttle or a private transfer will take you comfortably to Hochsölden and the Hotel Alpenfriede.
